Biopolymer-Based Hydrogels for Harvesting Water from Humid Air: A Review

چکیده

Despite the shrinkage of water availability worldwide, demand has been climbing due to rapidly increasing human population and impacts numerous hydroclimatic factors. To feed growing meet with exigent need for freshwater, new sources must be identified utilized. In recent years, biopolymer-based hydrogels have explored as a sustainable inexpensive solution capture moisture from humid air supply. This review summarizes advances in preparation atmospheric harvesting that are synthesized based on cellulose, chitosan, and/or other biopolymers, well their agricultural applications. The properties performance different discussed compared. Since agriculture accounts more than 70% consumption, developing cost-effective hydrogel-based harvesting/supply system could promising relieving elevating stress arid semi-arid regions.
